Rock fans are always so keen to state how much superior rock music is to pop, but to me the genre is stagnating.
I could always be missing something huge, however at the moment the genre appears to merely be running on cruise control with a minimal level of inspiring acts. For me, new rock bands are either abysmal prepubescent pop-punk/hardcore or painfully boring indie rock. A lot of people hated My Chemical Romance, but at least they had some level of significance. You can’t really say the same for the majority of rock nowadays.

The genre needs something special, fast.

It doesn’t say much when the most interesting new rock band in the world at the moment is the Black Veil Brides.

Jesus Fucking Christ what has happened.

Glee has been one of the most damaging forces in modern music.

NEWSFLASH: Every single decade had shit pop music. Stop wearing Nostalgia Goggles.

You do not have the right to make a greatest hits album if you haven’t been around for at least 15 years.

You just don’t.
